Kimberly Newkirk Headshot

Student Support Facilitator, Kimberly Newkirk

I am honored to serve as a dedicated educator at Edwards Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. My journey in education began in 2006 as a middle school teacher, driven by a belief that every child deserves a quality education that nurtures leadership and encourages self-discovery.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education from East Carolina University, where I developed a passion for equipping young minds with essential knowledge and skills. Motivated by a desire to make a broader impact in education, I pursued and achieved a Master of Arts in School Administration, accompanied by licensure in Curriculum and Instruction, also from East Carolina University.

For the past decade, I have been privileged to serve in various administrative roles within the education sector. Currently, I hold the position of Student Support Facilitator, where I am deeply committed to ensuring the well-being and academic success of all students at Edwards Elementary School. This role has provided me with invaluable experiences in providing personalized support to students, collaborating with teachers and families, and implementing programs that promote a positive school climate.

In addition to my professional endeavors, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends. They provide me with unwavering support and inspiration. Furthermore, I run a personal balloon business called "Oh My Balloons & More," where I combine my creative talents with entrepreneurial skills to bring joy and celebration to special occasions in our community.

As a Student Support Facilitator, my philosophy centers on fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to achieve their full potential. I am committed to collaborating with teachers, staff, parents, and the community to ensure that Edwards Elementary School continues to be a place where excellence in education thrives.
